FEBRUARY 2026 NEWSLETTER

Rebel Article Features & Journalism

I really appreciate everyone who is interested in Rebel Grown and cares enough to read them, and if you’ve been following along, you can see that things are building and getting more exciting each month.

I believe the way I have done things and built this brand and genetics company has not been very conventional for this industry.

It’s really about the connection that can be had between the plant and all of us, together. And if you are reading this, our connection is personal and important to me, it is way more special than selling weed to strangers.

With lots going on these newsletters have gotten pretty lengthy. I know not many of you will read to the end, but feel free to skip to the sections you are most interested in.

As always, we love to hear from you. Feel free to send us an email or message on social media with any feedback, comments or questions.

Opening for Berner in Boston!

On Feb 8th I got to open for Berner on his “Still Smokin” tour in Boston, my hometown.

I used to live 3 blocks away from the venue during one of the most challenging times of my life, 22 years ago.

My mom had just passed away from cancer, and I had a 6 bedroom party house in a college kid neighborhood.

I was broke and hustling weed. I left my grow house in Vermont after a lot of isolation and came back to the city to pursue music, move my crop, and hustle beasters.

My girlfriend of 4 1/2 years and I had just broken up, and I was alone in the world at 21 with nothing, trying to slang the herb and play poker to pay my rent, performing at house parties, and competing in and winning rap battles, trying to figure out how to get a record deal.

My other option was MMA, but I broke my knee playing basketball and ruined my athletic career potential.

At the time, a lot of the people around me were starting to get heavy into coke and heroin and OCs, and the typical alcoholism in my social circle was starting to show.

I spent a lot of my time with my late great friend Dyshawne, dreaming of how to get out and make a real life for myself. The music I was writing at the time was grim and hard and depressing.

Berner’s show was the first time I was back in that neighborhood in over 20 years, brought back a lot of memories, and I ripped shit the f up and told a story on stage in my songs that my 21-year-old self living on Allston street struggling to come up with rent could never believe.

So this was special for me, and it means a lot that Berner let me do this.

I had to make sure we showed the West Coast how we smoke in Boston, so I had the whole place smoking 150 joints of Rebel Cookies, my first Cookies cross dating back to 2011. So the air was filled with real Cookies smoke for Berner’s performance.

From one artist to another, Berner is dope, and I loved watching his set, dancing, smoking a joint, and drinking some tequila.

A dope experience, memorable night, and more perspective.

Upcoming Danny Hustle Music Release

Gaslight, Photo by Pico

I have been working hard for a long time trying to get to a point where I can start releasing music consistently

“Self Made” (single) drops in 2 weeks on all platforms, on March 6th.

This will be my first official release on all platforms, with more coming soon after. My previous release is only available on Bandcamp, here.

The song is produced by Nastee, a legend who has worked with Mobb Deep, Old Dirty Bastard, Big Pun, and Dead Prez, to name a few. His style and sound really embodies a time and feeling in hip-hop that really goes along with a lot of my musical inspirations.

To go along with it we’ll be releasing 3 new seed selections:

Self Made OG, Hustle Sour, and Chem Nastee (more info soon).

We’ll also have a limited t-shirt featuring the songs cover art.

Aside from Rebel Grown, my music is extremely important to me. It’s how I expressed myself, tell my story, process life, and is a form of therapy and release. I know my music and hip-hop is not for everyone, but I would love for people to check it out and spread the word.

Self Made, March 6th, on all platforms.

Testers/Discord Launch

With all the new hybrids and exciting seed lines we’ve been breeding, we have been compiling a list of new testers.

We have a group of about 35 people who have agreed to start some new never before grown seeds, and do their best to document the process, sharing notes and photos of the plants.

This is invaluable to us. It allows us to see and accomplish so much more than we could ever handle on our own, and most importantly, build a stronger connection between us and the other growers. From testing we can determine which new things to continue working and which to offer in the future.

We decided with the testers it would be the perfect time to start and introduce a Rebel Grown Discord.

The testers section of our will be private, but we would like to invite you to join our Discord where we will share information on all things Rebel Grown, including special offers and exclusive/exciting new releases.

Seed Sales & Specials / New Listings / Discounted & Affordable Seeds / Clones / Apparel

Big week for seeds.

First, we are offering a special 42.0% OFF SALE on Hill Rich and Natty Bumppo for one week. Check the lineage and read the descriptions on our site. These are fire and very special.

Next, we have some new listings hitting the site.

With Gabby and Notsodog discussing the history of the 56-day Headband cut online recently, we are releasing 10 packs each of a few hybrids we made with it.

HB 56 x (Doc 15 x Rebel Sour)

HB 56 x (Doc 15 x Island Mtn Headband)

HB 56 x (Island Mtn Headband (143 cut) x (Double OG Chem
(2nd place Emerald Cup personal category winner line)

Lastly, we realize that seeds are expensive. We want to make sure we have something for everyone’s budget, and we have a lot of amazing but lesser-known varieties that we’d love for more people to enjoy and experience.

So we’ve created space on our collections menu for affordable & discounted seeds priced from $60 to as low as $30 per pack.

Check our website for updated clone availability (if you see Butterscotch, I would snag it), and the Emporium for apparel, paraphernalia, and smoking accessories.

We plan to focus on creating a really cool online store with lots of our favorite things. For now, we’ve been more low-key in promoting it.

Help us finish the month strong. Every sale counts. My main goal is financial stability and security so that Rebel Grown can continue. While I believe we are close, there are many obstacles still to overcome.

Being independently owned in this industry is nearly impossible for most people. Your purchases go to our overall operations, from continued breeding and R&D, keeping mother plants alive, packaging, and marketing. We appreciate your support more than can be explained. We are only still here because of you.

Arizona

Exciting news! Our 3.5g branded packaged flower is now available at all of The Flower Shop locations in AZ!

Coming statewide to other retailers soon.

After growing and carefully testing 12 of our best strains in the Arizona market on the deli menu at The Flower Shop, we are offering small batches in Rebel Grown packaging of Island Mtn Headband and Gaslight to start.

We will be rotating other varieties and are excited to offer more products soon, and you can always find some of our best strains on the deli menu at The Flower Shop, especially our exclusive AZ selections Peak OG and Doc 15 x Pave #12. The next batch of those drops in a few weeks.

Excited to see what happens as we bring Rebel Grown and our classic old school gassy flavors with high potency throughout Arizona over the next 6 months.

With these partnerships we have in other states, they wouldn’t be possible without the individuals running operations. I feel they are often overlooked in standard brand licensing deals in the cannabis industry.

It took two years of getting to know each other and discussions to bring this to life. I’ve gotten to meet and know the entire team, and I’m so stoked to have them repping for me. I know it’s mutual because after spending a week with them, they made it clear that they are more excited than ever to bring Rebel Grown as a brand with our genetics, but most importantly, the story and intention of what it represents to all the heady weed smokers in Arizona

OHIO

n Ohio we are cookin! While we’ve been finding success getting our best herb to people statewide, the biggest challenge has been the state's difficult regulations, mostly surrounding marketing.

Ohio’s adult-use market is in its 2nd year. Prior to that, they had medical for 4.5 years. When the adult use regulations went into effect, they were still subjected to many of the regulations from the medical laws, including marketing.

It’s been a slow transition in Ohio as legislators create new regulations to go along with the adult-use side of things, which has been difficult and frustrating for licensed operators.

Under medical regs, cannabis was illegal to smoke, pre-rolls finally got approved back in August, and we were stoked to have some of the first pre-rolls available at dispensaries in the state in September.

Everything needs to be submitted and approved by the state cannabis board, including all marketing. When we initially launched our partnership with Anthos Organics, the state would not let us include the leaf in our logo. I was super bummed out because I love the look and the impact I believe it has when people see it. Rebel Grown without the leaf just didn’t seem right.

We got great news from our partners' marketing team a few weeks ago, that new adult-use regulations had been adopted, and they were able to resubmit our logo with the leaf and got it approved! So you will be seeing this look on all our packaging statewide soon, and we hope to have more opportunities to create valuable marketing cards and print materials to share information about the brand, our genetics, and our story with smokers throughout Ohio.

Lastly, this wouldn’t happen without the people. The individuals running the farm, selling the weed at dispensaries, doing extraction, filling cartridges, and making pre-rolls. It’s a strange feeling of appreciation, knowing so many people are working hard, pulling their weight to support us.

Back when I was running other people‘s farms in Humboldt, I was always a partner and received a percentage of the crop. The people working there, and paying them, was my responsibility. I felt and would always tell people that I’ve done every job that they are doing, and I know what I thought my time and effort would be worth if I had a boss who was paying me for it. And I always tried to take care of people and compensate them as generously as possible, if they put in the effort required.

I’m blown away by the effort, commitment, and dedication from everybody on our team in Ohio. I hope we can continue to inspire each other.

While we are in about 70 stores, we have only scratched the surface of showcasing how special our genetics are. This is just the beginning.

VERMONT

It’s been a cold, snowy winter here in the Northeast Kingdom, the coldest we’ve had in several years. I’ve been enjoying it, making the most of the time, staying focused, motivated, and working towards accomplishing goals and improving my health.

Aside from selling through our crop to retailers,s we are in planning mode for this spring.

Our Double OG Chem and Sour have been moving fast and are well-received, as well as our Island Mountain Headband and especially Strawberry Fields x Double OG Chem. We are getting ready to add Rebel Cookies and Starlink to our menu!

We have a very small team processing and packaging our stuff. We pretty much are trimming and packaging everything to order, so when stores get a delivery of pounds, jars, or pre-rolls, it’s trimmed, packaged, and made within 2 to 5 days before they receive them, ensuring everything is fresh for the smokers.

I’m excited for the spring, but not ready to go there in my mind, because we have a cold rest of February, March, and most likely part of April before the ground starts to warm and things come back to life.

We will use the time, however, to plan and build excitement for what we will grow and how we can improve.

Some of our biggest goals are to be able to afford a power upgrade, a small indoor flowering space, getting a manufacturing license so we can make solventless products, and the multitude of other important of improvements and maintenance around the property that seems such a far reach away.

I will keep dreaming big and continue to do my best at what I can accomplish that’s realistic.

NEW YORK

Not much to report at this time. You can find our stuff at Con-Bud Lower East Side and a few spots in Brooklyn. Haven’t had time to figure out a strategy with our partners, although we have some awesome herb that they grew last season that is waiting to be processed. We will keep you posted once we figure out a plan.

Southern Humboldt, CA

California, Southern Humboldt, and my farm there will always be the most important. If it wasn’t for Humboldt, who knows what would’ve happened to me if I stayed stuck as a small-time grower, dealer, and wholesaler/distributor in the Northeast.

One day, I’d like to find a way to tell the whole story of how everything came to be, and what it’s taken to hold onto it and keep the dream alive.

Howard has been holding down the farm and working to clean up and maintain the property in the offseason.

He’s also been representing wherever there’s opportunity, and recently he held down a booth at Mendo Con, which was dope. Just a heads up, his seeds are available on our website.

We have some really exciting things happening in California, several that are a little too early to publicly talk about. What I can say is that we are getting our crop trimmed up now, and are planning for flower and live rosin releases in partnership with some really awesome brands and retailers in April. More details as we get closer.

We are also creating some partnerships to expand our production and r&d beyond my small farm in Humboldt. Looking forward to sharing more when the time is right.

My goal has always been for people throughout the entire state of California to have access to our best weed at all times. I stay working tirelessly towards it, and we are making exciting progress. Within 6 months or so, we plan to have our best stuff everywhere so people can have access to real gassy herb in the mass market, while prioritizing our small batch stuff from Humboldt to some of the most craft boutique retailers.

Big full circle moment coming soon
