EARLY MARCH 2026 NEWSLETTER
Announcing the release of my song “Self Made” (single), available now on all music streaming platforms!
“Self Made” is my first release on all platforms as I start to put out my catalog and share my music with the weed industry, community, and hopefully the world.
This is also my first official music video/visualizer, made by recent Clio winner Andrew William Ralph.
The song is produced by Nastee, a legend who has worked with T.I., Mobb Deep (mixed Quiet Storm), Big Pun, Everlast, Busta Rhymes, Dead Prez, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, and Joey Bada$$ to name a few.
His style and sound really embody a time and feeling in hip-hop that really goes along with a lot of my musical inspirations. Basically, he makes my shit sound amazing.
To go along with the song we are releasing 3 new seed varieties, Self Made OG, Hustle Sour, and Chem Nastee, and some dope limited edition t-shirts featuring the songs cover art.
Seeds and t-shirts are live on our site now, and check out our listings for other sales, specials, and clone drops this weekend.
Self Made OG
DBL OG Sour #2 x (DBL Ghost OG #10)
The first strain is called “Self Made OG”
It’s is a cross of our Double OG Sour #2 (2024 cup winning cut) crossed to males from a 2016 Double OG Sour selection, which used males from a 2013 Double OG Sour selection crossed back into Ghost OG in 2015, then crossed into the 2015 selections keeper clone, the same plant that you see growing in rows of pots in this photo from my farm in Humboldt from 2016.
The ultimate OG from seed and the song showcase the struggle of making it in the weed game, self-made, with no investors/support from anyone but myself, to become a land owner and licensed cultivator on both coasts, and putting in work breeding over 15 years, winning awards, searching for the gassiest most fire shit.
Hustle Sour
Double OG Chem 15 x (Rebel Sour f1 bc1)
Hustle Sour is the next seed strain to go along with the music release.
My first experience with Sour Diesel goes back to 2003 in Vermont. The real deal done properly is my desert island strain. The high is perfectly balanced and the flavor is as good as it gets and lingers. The best plants from these seeds are better.
I’ve grown and sold a lot of Sour Diesel, and I’ve been breeding with it since 2011 creating several different hybrid lines which I’ve been in-crossing and back-crossing for many years.
As an artist I go by Danny Hussle, and for more than two decades, I have hustled Sour, hence the name of this fire Sour Diesel seed line.
For “Hustle Sour” we crossed our Double OG Chem #15 (multi award go, only 3 x breeders cup winner cut) to males from the oldest remaining seed generation of our Rebel Sour made in 2015, which is (Sour Diesel x (Sour Diesel x Double OG Sour x Starfighter f1).
The Sour Diesel clone I brought from New England to California in 2011. We used to grow hundreds of pounds of it every year, and had it down averaging 4 lbs per 100 gallon pot in the garden from this photo in 2012.
A Rebel Sour clone that I wish we still had, from the same generation of Rebel Sour seeds we selected males from to breed Hustle Sour. This generation was the last of the F1 that made Rebel Sour crossed back into the clone for the first time.
Chem Nastee
Chem Nastee = Chem 91 x Butterscotch
Last but not least, our Chem Nastee is a tribute to a legendary producer I feel privileged to work with, and is some of the stankiest Chemmy gas we can come up with.
First off, Nastee is nasty. He’s been producing since the late 80s early 90s and has been involved in some legendary music and studio sessions.
He literally has produced for some of my favorite hip-hop artists.
I love his beats and his style. I spent most of my life looking for producers who I really vibe with, as I’m really picky about what beats and sounds I like and feel inspired to write to.
He created a sound for Self Made that takes me to the era of hip-hop I love the most. So I want to give him his flowers, literally, by naming this strain in his honor, and sharing a portion of the proceeds from the seeds with him, long-term.
Funny story, when me and Nastee met for the first time, we did not have a good first impression and ended up with a little friction. Later we figured out that we had some more things in common than we realized, and this is been my OG ever since.
Selecting something as loud and nasty as his music to do him justice, and making sure he is indefinitely smoking some serious stanky Chemmy fire, was a must.
Chem Nastee is a cross of males from our Butterscotch (Guava Chem x Double OG Sour) into the original chemiest chem of them all, Chem 91.
This is especially chronic. Butterscotch was first bred in 2016. F2‘s were made in 2018 and a female from that generation won 7th place in the personal category of the Emerald Cup that year.
I made open pollination F3’s in 2020 and again in 2021 growing the F2‘s and F3‘s side-by-side, making F4s and a new selection of F3s, only keeping seeds from the best females in all these projects.
As much as my work with Butterscotch is fire, sometimes it’s the most exciting to go back to the original. So for Chem Nastee, we started over 200 of the original F1 seeds made in 2016. I selected several incredible males to open pollinate the female population remaking F2‘s, and we threw a bunch of classic clones in the project as well, including the original Chem 91.
Whoever gets their hands on these, let’s find the dopest plants and grow some Chem Nastee for Nastee to blaze.
Limited Tee-Shirts
Check out these new limited edition T-shirts we made to celebrate this release. There are only 25 total of each. Would be super cool if we could sell these out and move onto some new exciting designs.
Made from the heaviest quality materials we could find with a dope Rebel Grown patch stitched in to the lower right side.
Appreciate Your Support
Being an artist publicly is a little new for me, and I would love your help getting the word out.
I don’t want Rebel to be labeled a hip-hop brand, and I promise to get more into the brand and farms in the next newsletter.
I’m trying to find the right way to showcase both Rebel Grown and my music without getting type cast. I hope I can use the brands platform to support all types of artistry and music besides myself in the future.
Hope everybody checks out the song, and it would mean a lot if you would repost my stuff this week, tell your friends, and spread the word, if you want to see me be heard. I don’t ask for a lot of favors, but I want to ask everyone to check this out.
Thanks for being a part of something that means a lot to me that’s taken me decades to finally achieve.
Can’t wait to hear what everybody thinks.
Much Love and Reespect,
Dan
